Covid 19 updates

Coronavirus (Covid 19) Updates:

“There is much fear and anxiety as well as a variety of thoughts on this virus and on how our family, school, state, and nation should respond to it. My hope is that one thing we, as a school family, all share is our faith in a loving God, who is merciful and loving.” Mr. Gundell, Principal

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear.” Psalm 46:1-2

Mask Mandate Changes 03/01/22

Over the weekend we saw the state make a plan for changing the mask mandate for schools.  As of Wednesday, our school will change it’s practice related to mask wearing.  It will be good to see the children’s full faces again 🙂 – and yet we need to continue good practices as a school community to assure good health for all.

Covid cases are still occurring in the community and our school will not be exempt.

All members of the school need to continue to follow school attendance guidelines regarding illness.  If there is a symptom or suspicion of a sickness, please do not attend school.  Please take a test to verify good health prior to attending.  This guideline is important to remain vigilant on, especially with the mask mandate being removed and HG allowing parent choice on the practice of wearing masks.

I have been equipped with a supply of Covid home tests from the state.  To date, we have reserved these tests for staff and families that have shared a suspicion of illness.  Today I will be sending a 2-pack test kit home with each student.  The intention is for this kit to be reserved for the student and used to screen for Covid if an illness is suspected.  I want our students to not miss school if it can be avoided.  Equally as important, I also want to assure that those attending school are in good health.  If the test is used, the results should be reported to the office.  If able, the school will continue to provide free tests to continue this practice throughout the remaining portion of the school year.

It has been a long and strenuous partnering effort that has allowed us to continue to deliver in person instruction through this pandemic.  I thank you for your continued support as we navigate the changes.  Please contact the office with any questions.

Our students, faculty and staff have diligently followed our health and safety protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the rising community spread of the virus could impact our 5 day in-person instructional model.
